Lipa-Solv 55: Re-Hydrator
Lipa-Solv 55 is a highly concentrated surfactant-based degreaser that can be used as a re-wetting agent in the rehydration bath or as a stand-alone product in a degreasing bath. This product is both biodegradable and tough on grease and fat, yet gentle on hair. Rehydration Instructions: Lipa-Solv 55 For best results, use warm water that does not exceed 90 degrees. To make a gallon of the solution, add ¼ lb of salt and 1 oz of Lipa-Solve 55. For a natural bactericide, add 1 oz of citric acid per gallon. Commercial bactericides can be used according to the manufacturer's instructions. Keep the skin(s) submerged in the solution only for as long as necessary to rehydrate. The time needed will vary depending on how long the skin has been dry. It takes 4-8 hours for an average deer, but as long as 12 hours or overnight for a skin that has dried hard. Once rehydration is complete, the skin must go into the pickle solution.

Lubri-Stretch 2000: Taxidermy Leather Oil

This specially blended oil delivers deep penetration and unparalleled softness, making it the ideal choice for all your back skin and rug work needs. With a neutral pH of 6 and anionic charge, Lubri-Stretch 2000 boasts a low odor, ensuring a pleasant leatherworking experience. Experience superior results with this high-quality oil. Testimonial: “I have started using the TruBond products and last week I took a piece of zebra skin that was tanned in Africa over 20 years ago and it was stiff as a board. I spritzed it with water and then oiled it with Lubri-stretch 2000 and the next morning when I came in, I pulled on it to see if it had softened up and I was shocked at the stretch and how soft it became with a little effort. It is soft enough to make a pillow and it impressed me at how little it took to make it usable. I had kept it around for patching rugs and mounts and never thought it would be good for anything but that. TruBond has some good products and is all I use now on all our tanning. I tan all our African skins also and the products they sell for soaking up skins are good also.” Marty Prater All Creatures Taxidermy, Corpus Christi, TX
